The Prescott Long Riders Inception!
100 years ago, Parades in Prescott consisted of cowboys, horses, stagecoaches, wagons and a few gold miners with their mules. Fast forward and all parades are motorized. About 10 years ago, two old cowboys were having a few drinks at their favorite drinking establishment on Historic Whiskey Row. They were talking about how parades were now full of trucks, cars and the smell of exhaust. One of the old cowboys said, "lets go wrangle up a few horses and start our own parade!"
And so it began!

We will start at Granite Dells Trailhead with breakfast served.
We will ride to Watson Lake for the group photo. Next, we ride south to our lunch stop. We will have nearly an hour to eat lunch and water your horse.
Immediately following, it is off to the VA Hospital for a Ceremony honoring our Veterans. A short trip over to Yavapai College to stage for the Parade.
This year we will flank the Courthouse on 3 sides, ride down Historic Whiskey Row and complete our ride at the Prescott Frontier Days Rodeo grounds.
If you do not have a ground crew, you will need to drop your horse at the Granite Dells Trailhead and drive your rig to the Prescott Frontier Days Rodeo Grounds . There will be 3 Yavapai Transit Shuttles leaving the Rodeo grounds and delivering riders to the staging area.
Exact shuttle times are forthcoming!
Your $60 Donation is still required regardless of where you join the ride. As time constraints become more critical this close to the parade, you must be ready to ride by 1:30 PM.
